2005 Mitsubishi EVO IX – Stock
What a rare find… A 2005 Mitsubishi EVO IX in stock, unmolested condition. One of the most iconic performance cars of its time, the EVO IX is now a highly collectible model. Over the years, clean EVO IX examples have become increasingly hard to find. Most cars on the market have been heavily modified, driven hard or poorly maintained. Finding a car in original, stock condition like this one is now genuinely rare.
This particular car is a Japanese import and remains in very good overall condition. It has covered 112,000 kilometres, which is reasonable for its age and use. More importantly, it presents as a well-kept and honest example, showing signs of careful ownership rather than abuse.
The 2.0-litre turbo engine delivers strong performance. Power is sent to all four wheels through Mitsubishi’s AWD system which is adjustable according to the conditions (road/gravel/snow), or depending on the driver’s mood. The car feels sharp, direct and engaging to drive.
Inside and out, this EVO remains true to factory specification. The interior has the original Recaro seat and the Momo Steering wheel. The exterior retains its correct factory look with its Enkei 10 Spoke wheels and the iconic EVO IX aero kit. No unnecessary modifications. No aftermarket parts. This originality is what makes the car appealing to collectors today, not just drivers. Click here for an expert’s guide on the EVO IX
The only points worth mentioning are the tyres, and the battery. The tyres have developed flat spots due to the car not being driven much for a period of time and the battery is weak for the same reason. This is a minor and easily resolved issue and does not reflect mechanical wear.
As values continue to rise, original EVO IX models are becoming recognised as modern Japanese classics. Cars like this are no longer easy to replace. This is your opportunity to own a proper EVO, just as it left the factory.
